How I Got Here

To interpret and evaluate the content of the essay it might be helpful to know that in addition to my Quaker career, I was educated in science rather than the arts or humanities. I trained and taught physics and mathematics at secondary school level. I had a short academic career in cognitive psychology and neurophysiology. Most of my working life I spent with computers in software management, consultancy and research. I have also owned and run consultancy and craft businesses. I have lived and worked professionally in the USA, Saudi Arabia, and Holland as well as in Britain.

Recently I returned to university and entered the, to me, foreign world of furniture, restoration, conservation and art.
